Zone Positive Website Design & Development

Zone Positive was created to help people thrive in their personal and professional life using the tenets of positive psychology. Their mission is to spread the awareness and use of this emerging science by offering practical and engaging courses in each of the principle areas that fall under the umbrella of positive psychology via videos and documentation on their website. MESH Interactive was hired to rebrand, and relaunch the new Zone Positive website. Shown here is the new site’s home page.

To help Senior Management re-envision the site, we developed a whole new identity. Based on this new look, we created a site that was clean, easy to navigate, and easy to maintain. The Zone Positive team can quickly create and update site content on the fly—all without relying on a web developer.

The main offering of the website is educational content delivered via video. To sell video courses, MESH created a custom solution to allow users to preview course videos, purchase them individually or in bundles through a custom shopping cart solution, and to return at future dates through a custom user account system. In addition, post-launch Zone Positive returned to MESH to create a License Module, allowing companies and organizations to purchase licenses for their employees.

MESH incorporate Streaming Flash Server technology to deliver the videos quickly to Zone’s users. Users are able to create accounts, purchase videos, and view them at any time. In addition, as the videos are all around an hour or more, the use of Streaming Flash allows users to jump to any point in the video on the fly, rather than downloading the entire video to their desktop. This provides users with ease of use, as well as flexibility to watch snippets of videos as they have time.

The cart was built to allow users to preview videos and check out quickly and easily. Minimizing user input, and streamlining the process, users are able to start viewing videos within minutes.

The previous site, shown here, was built on a difficult to maintain, clunky and extremely unmarketable CMS. The screen above shows the home page, creating using the CMS’s template feature. Similar to many outdated CMS out there, the site lacked basic SEO tools, and in some cases, contributed to reduced Search Engine visibility. MESH’s updated CMS allows Zone Positive to quickly optimize their site for search engines, and achieve better results.
